旅程的考验 Challenges

旅程的考验

签证:中国对外国人发出一个月的旅游签证,可延签两次,共三个月,大大的限制了骑行的时间。

长度:在马泰辽三国的单程骑行长度是3200公里,在中国境内要骑行超过七千公里。要在三个月内完成七千公里,唯有提高骑行速度。


海拔高度:滇藏公路(四川至西藏)从丽江中甸开始海拔高度就大都在三千米以上,一直到绒布寺5200米,这样的海拔高度很容易引起严重气喘,全身无力,头晕,无法睡眠等高山反应。


爬坡:路程中要翻过四个五千米,七个四千米以上的山口,有好些天是要陡上再陡下超过两千米,喜欢骑山路的朋友来到这里是不会失望的。


路况:在上下起伏的山路中,还有一些不是柏油路,而是由弹石沙土组成的烂泥,沙石,搓板路。在雨季时还会因溪流流量高涨引发泥石流塌方,道路将完全无法通行。糟糕又起伏的路况,会对骑行的安全性造成极大的威胁。

缺钱:预算中缺少的主要是要用在特殊雪地装备如四季雪地帳,冲锋衣裤,雪地双重靴等,没有以上装备就接近不了冰川。

Challenges

Visa: China gives foreigner a total of 3 months of visa. Greatly restricting the cycling time in China.

Distance travel: After cycling 3200km trough Malaysia ,Thailand and Laos, more then 7000km of cycling would be done in China. To do that in three months time would means we need to speed up.

Altitude: Starting from Zhongdian, Lijiang, altitude is mostly over 3000M , until the turning point of the trip, base camp of mount Everest at the altitude of 5200M, which have the chances of causing acute mountain sickness like headache , loss of appetite and sleep, dizziness and fatigue on minimal exertion.

Elevation: The trip will cross 4 passes over 5000M, 7 passes over 4000M. There are days of daily climb over 2000M and descending down about the same height. Climbers(cyclist) will not be disappointed .

Conditions of the roads: Some sections of the road are not paved, only cover by hard rocks, loose sands and wet mud. During wet season, there are chances of floods and landslides bringing total closure of the road. Steep and bad roads means only one word: Danger.

Limiting fund: One major share of the funding is for the snow and winter gear like winter tent, weatherproof jackets, snow trekking boots and etc. Without them there is no chance to get near the glaciers.
